Tanjore Painting is a classical South Indian painting style, which originated from Tanjore in Tamilnadu back in the 17th century. They had used the same to decorate the walls of temples, palaces and homes since the Chola dynasty. The most common subjects are Ganesha, Krishna, Radha Krishna, Butter-Thief Krishna, Yashodha Krishna, Lakshmi, Saraswathi, Balaji - Padmavathi Thaayar, Jesus Christ, Sai Baba, Buddha and other religious and portraits. They are characterized by rich, flat and vivid colors, simple iconic composition, glittering gold foils overlaid on delicate but extensive gesso work and inlay of glass beads and pieces or very rarely precious and semi-precious gems. we bring you an exclusive selection of traditional tanjore paintings made using 22 carat gold foils and teak wood frames.Gold foils are obtained from goldsmiths directly in the form of leaflets.
